Poverty is not only financial, it is emotional and generational. Living in poverty often comes with deep, unresolved trauma. Anxiety and grief quietly follow families, becoming invisible barriers to lasting change. Schools provide education. Homes provide food and shelter. We’ve invested in education, health, and opportunity — but without healing, those investments cannot reach their full impact. When emotional wounds go untreated, hope cannot grow.
This spring, you can help Humanity & Hope United launch Hope That Heals, bringing professional counseling, community education, and family support to five remote communities in Honduras. Unresolved trauma is a recurring cost, but psychological healing is a one-time investment – with generational impact. Through this program, children and families will be equipped with the tools to heal, grow, and thrive – breaking cycles of trauma and poverty.

what does this program include?
Led by a full-time licensed Mental Health Professional, the program will:
1. Provide counseling to treat trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, and behavioral challenges
2. Offer prevention-focused psychoeducation for all ages
3. Strengthen families with relational and emotional skill-building
4. Build long-term emotional resilience across communities

Our need is $40,000 to sustain this program for two years. Approximately 60% of funds will support a full-time licensed Mental Health Professional providing counseling and leadership. The remaining 40% will fund educational workshops, program materials, transportation to remote communities, community gatherings, and case management.
